What is WEBEX COST ?
Cisco WebEx is the
biggest name in the industry collaboration. It is the second largest SaaS firms
in the u.s. by revenue, application # 6 in the world according to web traffic,
and it's so ubiquitous that people refer to various forms of web conferencing
as "doing a WebEx."
Let's delve into
the real monthly cost of the giant industrial collaboration.
Although the term
"WebEx" and "web conferencing" was almost exchanged these
days, many companies lose the chance to calculate the total cost of WebEx's
real compared to the effectiveness of it. For many organizations, WebEx is
considered the cost of charred and not tied to business results as revenue,
profitability or product launch purposes. With a versatile and powerful tool, the question is, do you
get all the information you need to align the specific objectives with WebEx on
your business?
If we look at the
price list, it looks like pretty much straight out of the box. $ 69 per month
for up to 100 people per Meeting with support for video and recordings and some
type of phone call. Prices may also vary for users who do not require a meeting
be large (most people).
After closer examination
Once you dig
deeper, you will find there are a few other sources of potential costs for your
organization. First, how much audio calls in minutes cost, and what kind of
minutes of audio that you use the most? For each meeting You host, you can buy
calls in minutes via the Cisco connect Internet (case studies showing the cost savings
with Cisco cloud) or phone provider of your choice. When you take
the next step and discuss with Cisco Sales Rep, you find that the adjustments
went further and pretty much any aspect of the license can be customized to
accommodate your specific needs.
This is great for
you as a customer! You leave the negotiations feeling you got the best deal for
your company's needs and move forward with the cost predicted to WebEx every
month.
The hard part
comes when you have different types of usage, and you want to understand and
optimize all of them to reduce your bills and make the best use of your
investment (for example, in SIP trunking). Let's look at all the components and
how much you really know about them.
Here's a typical company to use as an
example:
* I will not
attempt to guess a volume discount for Cisco, so I'll leave it full list price,
although this is highly unlikely. In addition, there are many other types of
licenses other than the Cisco WebEx meetings, such as events, training and
support that all have different licensing and fee structures.
User license:
You have 5000
employees, and you want to simply host license, so you don't run out during a
busy day. After all, failing to hold meetings because of lack of resources
which is worse for your business rather than spending a few extra dollars per
month. Let's say you go with 1000 concurrent hosted license, since you have
customers, suppliers, and partners you need to meet with internal meetings as
well. This means you can have up to 1000 hosted a meeting at the same time.
Nice! However, you know most of the meetings will be less than 25 people, but
maybe can go up to 8 participants per meeting. Once again, it's better safe
than sorry.
1000 x $ 39 = $
39000 per month license
Minutes of audio:
5000 employees x 1
hours per day x 5 days x 4 weeks = 100,000 hours per month that 6,000
million minutes per month for internal only.
Now let's say 50% of
audio minutes used external, non-VoIP lines. In addition, there is 1 customer
at every hour of the meeting. You are charged for the time they call for
your meeting.
3,000,000 +
3,000,000 (customers) x 7 = $ 120,000 per month the cost of audio
Wow! A quick look
at how overwhelmed Your licensing fees?
Storage costs:
WebEx account
comes with some recording capability, but you will be charged storage fees
(except if you have an internal media storage solution). This information is a
little harder to get, but $ 7.20/GB, 50 GB minimum total is estimated price we
found for the network-based recording (first GB for free).
Let's say you do
not need to record many-for example say 1/100 hour WebEx recorded. It is 1000, which is about 250 GB of storage
for video. Just for simplicity, let's say not stored more than one year, so we
take our 250 x 12.
$ 7.20 x 250 x 12
= $ 21.600
The total came in
about $ 21.600 per month.
Spent A Total Of
WebEx:
License: $
39000
Audio: $
120,000
Storage: $
21.600
$ 180.600 per
month for medium-sized businesses is a chunk of change. Of
course, there is a significant volume discount and all the previously mentioned
negotiations should be taken into account. However, it is enough monthly bills.
